On Saturday August 26, 2023, Yoctangee Park will be hosting the 2023 annual Chillicothe Hope Fest to support those in recovery and encourage those who wish to be in recovery. From 3-8 p.m., enjoy family fun, food, music, resources and speakers, open to all. Immediately following the fest, a candlelight vigil will be held to remember those who have passed away due to Substance Use Disorder, as well as bring awareness to International Overdose Awareness Day, which is August 31. August 31 is also the day of Ohio Overdose Awareness Day. Purple is the color that symbolizes this day, and many Chillicothe businesses will be exchanging their regular lights for purple ones in support of Overdose Awareness Day.

Memorial yard signs are available as part of this year’s candlelight vigil. Family members and friends can purchase a sign in memory of a loved one for $30 (proceeds will support individuals in need).

Memorial signs will be displayed during the Hope Fest event. Loved ones can take signs home after the event to display for Overdose Awareness Day on August 31. Due date for order submission is August 11. Click the link below to order an International Overdose Awareness Day memorial sign: https://redcap.link/memorial_sign_order_form
